The future is made of ghosts (aka Poetry X Dance: Future Rituals)

What if there is no such thing as self-expression? What if we are all vessels of things bigger than ourselves? We will be dancing and creating small openings, brief insights, scintillations that prick holes in the surface/texture of everydayness. We will inhabit our dances, take notes in the form of poems, read each other’s dances – allowing us to reconfigure our possible futures.

ARTISTBIO: Alix Eynaudi

Alix was trained as a ballet dancer in the Opéra of Paris. She worked in various ballet companies before entering P.A.R.T.S. when the school first opened. In 1996, Alix joined Anne-Teresa De Keersmaeker’s company Rosas where she worked for 7 years.
Since 2005 she has been creating numerous pieces. In 2011, she lead, together with Kris Verdonck, an artistic research on sleep which turns into Exit (2011), a solo in which she puts the audience to sleep. Following was MoniqueEdelweiss, and Chesterfield.
In the past couple of years, Alix has been asked to curate learning platforms and cartes blanches in various institutions amongst the field of live arts, she approaches these tasks with a particular attention to the (combination of) infrastructures that make these events possible, even when tied by different economic realities.
She is currently working on Noa & Snow, an art-based research project funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Noa & Snow, a gentle experiment between the everyday and the event, aims at exploring the capacities of poetry to ignite imagination across several writing modes and genres in order to shed some light on the possible articulations between performance practices and writing practices. As well, it asks the question: “What is being reproduced while making art?”.
Alix’s artistic practice involves teaching e.g. .at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels, ImPulsTanz in Vienna, HEAD in Geneva, La Manufacture in Lausanne, KASK (Performance) and (S :PAM) in Gent, Tanzquartier in Vienna, festival Le Far in Nyon (CH).
Alix also continues to develop projects with other artists, both as a collaborator and a performer e.g. Anne Juren, Boris Charmatz, Jennifer Lacey, Raimundas Malašauskas, Sabina Holzer, Jason Dodge.
Her interest lies in art-based social experiments as well as in the infinitely soft. She thinks of her work as a choreographer as the work of a social-event organiser.
