COVID-19 MEASURES

Even in times of physical dis-dancing, this summer we want to move together again, to (or off) the beat of the music, forget our everyday worries, sweat together, blow off steam or simply let go. In all this, the health of our visitors, artists and staff always comes first. Therefore, we are constantly developing our prevention concepts, based on the latest official guidelines.
Please keep yourself informed through this page about the currently valid measures – thank you very much!

Arrival

Concerning your arrival/departure, please observe the valid entry regulations for Austria and your country of departure. You will always find up-to-date information on entering Austria on the website of the Austrian Ministry of Health. We recommend booking your arrival/departure as well as your accommodation at rather short notice or to make sure that you can cancel your booking free of charge.

Regarding workshops & research projects

Access tests

For access to the Arsenal workshop centre in general and participation in the workshops and research projects (regardless of location), either access tests (antigen or PCR test) or a certificate of recovery from the infection with COVID-19 (valid for a maximum of six months) or a positive laboratory test for neutralising antibodies (valid for three months from the date of testing) are mandatory for each course day (as of March 2021). The result of an antigen test must not be older than 48 hours; the result of a PCR test must not be older than 72 hours (in each case counting from the time of sampling). The test result must include the name of the tested person, date and time of sampling. The identification has to be proven with a valid ID. For all participants, who do not have a valid test result, ImPulsTanz will provide a free test lane at the Arsenal on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays subject to online pre-registration (starting from approximately two weeks before the start of the workshop festival). Please allow enough time for the testing before your class starts.

Example of application

To participate in a workshop or research project (Mon-Fri) or enter the Arsenal area, an antigen test is required on Monday and Wednesday as well as Friday (provided free of charge and subject to online pre-registration at the Arsenal before the class starts, in case of free capacity). Privately, however, a test could also be carried out on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday in one of the many municipal/company testing facilities or pharmacies (max. 48 hours validity per test).
For participation in an intensive workshop or research project stretching over a weekend (Sat and Sun), an antigen test is required directly on Saturday before the start of the class (provided free of charge in case of free capacities after online pre-registration at the Arsenal before the start of the classes). Privately, however, you can get tested on Friday and Sunday in one of the many city/company testing facilities or pharmacies (max. 48 hours validity per test).

Rules of conduct at your workshop/research project or at the workshop centre

Please disinfect your hands with the hand disinfectant provided when entering the grounds and before and after the classes. Please wear an FFP2 mask where required by current summer legislation and comply with physical distancing measures. Currently we do not expect masks to be compulsory during the workshop itself, but will of course comply with all applicable regulations. There will be enough space in the large workshop halls of the Arsenal for all participants to be able to maintain the necessary distancing at all times. Due to the large cubic capacity of the workshop halls, fresh air supply and the access tests will reduce a possible risk of infection through aerosols. Of course, we continue to increase the cleaning intervals of all public areas.

Please adhere to the general hygiene recommendations (keep your distance, wash your hands regularly, disinfect your hands, refrain from shaking hands and hugging, do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth and if possible sneeze or cough only into the crook of your arm or into a handkerchief, which is to be disposed of immediately afterwards).

If COVID 19 symptoms are present, or if you suspect to be ill, the workshop premises may not be entered. Please also note our special cancellation policy in this regard.
Symptoms may include: Cough, fever, cold, disturbance of sense of smell and/or taste, pneumonia, sore throat, headache, pain in the limbs, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, conjunctivitis, skin rash, swelling of the lymph nodes, apathy.

Special cancellation policy regarding COVID-19

If you are unexpectedly unable to attend a workshop or a research project due to an official travel/entry ban on short notice (corresponding to official announcements), an infection or a justified suspicion of an infection with Covid-19 or any other serious illness (proven by a medical certificate), the cancellation and workshop and research project fee will be credited to you for future participations (2021-2023). The credit note can only be issued, if you inform us immediately after the above-mentioned conditions have occurred. If you fail to inform us immediately or if you do not attend a workshop or research project and fail to inform us, a credit note cannot be issued afterwards, even if you have a medical certificate. The decision is always at the discretion of the festival’s management. Should the festival or a particular workshop or research project have to be cancelled against expectations, the full amount of the respective workshops and research projects (including cancellation fee) will of course be refunded – pro rata for workshops and research projects that have already started. Any private expenses for the festival visit (travel costs, accommodation costs, etc.), however, cannot be reimbursed.

After the workshop/research project

If you test positive for COVID-19 or become a suspected case shortly after your workshop, please report immediately to the telephone health advice line 1450 and the ImPulsTanz Workshop Office. The health authority will decide on further action and, if necessary, will ask ImPulsTanz/Wiener Tanzwochen to provide the relevant contact details of those present. Participants who were present at the course in question will then be informed or contacted by the health authority if necessary.

Duty to provide information to the health authorities

In the case of a Corona cluster, it has to be possible for the organiser (ImPulsTanz/Wiener Tanzwochen) to disclose who was present in which workshop at the request of the health authorities (according to § 5 para. 3 Epidemics Act and § 10 para. 2 DSG (legal basis in terms of Article 6 DSGVO para. 1 lit. d or Art. 9 para. 2 lit. i DSGVO)). Further information on data protection at ImPulsTanz/Vienna Dance Weeks can be found here.

Workshop descriptions

In some cases, the workshop descriptions mention improvisation in groups or with partners as well as hands-on partner work. As things stand, this will not be possible and the lessons will be adapted accordingly. We are also constantly looking at how far dancing into the space will be possible at all. Please keep visiting this page or contact the Workshop Office if you have specific questions.

Visitors at Arsenal

Dance enthusiasts are invited to watch, get inspired and listen to the live music at many of the workshops at the Arsenal – an essential part of the workshop programme. We would like to make this possible also in times of COVID-19, in accordance with the health authorities’ regulations then in force. In any case, an admission test (as described above) is required for each day of the visit, and possibly also a visitor registration for the purpose of contact tracing. We are happy to inform you on this page as soon as further details are available.
