Zoé-Afan Strasser was born in Vienna in 1999. She attended the ballet school of the Vienna State Opera for five years. She has been training at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna since 2012 and completed her bachelor's degree in dance with honours in summer 2018. In 2018, she attended the Alonzo King Lines Ballet Training Programme in San Francisco for a year and gained artistic experience there. She has been working as a freelance dancer in Vienna since 2019 and teaches in several Viennese dance studios. Strasser took part in the 24th International Solo Dance Theatre Festival Stuttgart with her choreography Mell brwn. Interdisciplinary projects are a large part of her work, in which she has collaborated with artists such as Erwin Wurm, Baubo Collective, Shake Stew, AVL Cultural Foundation and Matthew Lutz-Kinoy. She has worked with renowned choreographers such as Esther Balfe, Virgine Roy-Nigl, Antony Rizzi, Carmen Rozestraten, Alonzo King, Maurya Kerr, Kiani del Valle, Simon Mayer, Elizabeth Ward, Jacopo Godani, Christian Burns, Courtney Mazeika, Sasha Amaya, Darrel Toulon and Akemi Takeya.
