Art for a Change

This workshop is addressed to adults with intellectual disabilities who like to move and would like to explore their own expressive possibilities and develop a dance choreography together.

In our work at the "Ich bin O.K." Dance Studio and the Dance Company, we want to give everyone all the time and space needed for each member, to discover, introduce and develop their individual abilities.

With the motto "Art for a Change", we work together with our dancers to produce productions where they can express their opinions and feelings, and choose a content and themes they are really interested in.

In the first part of the workshop, we warm up together in a training session based on elements of contemporary dance. This way we expand the movement repertory and our body becomes more flexible and more skilful.

The second part centres around dance improvisation, storytelling, as well as experimentation with movement dynamics, emotions and temperament, using exciting group and partner movement games. We are working on the development of different rolls and a choreography, which we will present in the end.
