Ligia Lewis (DE/DO)
Voices of disobedience and refusal (such as from Jean Anouilh’s Antigone and Beckett’s Not I) inhabit the hybrid, restless body of a young man performed by L.A. based performance artist Brian Getnick. Ligia Lewis was born in the Dominican Republic, grew up in the USA and currently lives in Berlin. With Sorrow Swag she has created an intense performance revealing the essentially political dimension of sadness that lies in rejecting the happiness imposed by society. The powerful soundtrack was created by Lewis’ twinbrother - acclaimed musician and producer Twin Shadow!
