Naoko Tanaka (DE/JP)
The flare of a small flashlight. The sound of a moving train. A table, under which Naoko Tanaka has set up a landscape on a black carpet with skewered cutlery, empty biscuit jars, undergrowth, a dismembered skeleton, wire and film reels. The flare of the flashlight projects the gigantic outlines of this installation onto the walls. Tanaka has put a doll on the table to serve as her doppelganger. With her flashlight the artist screens the small figure whose shadows start to play and dance in space. This is made-to-measure choreographic work and at the same time the light thrower’s search for the shadows in her own life.
