would be astounded, if she came, how much she is already here. At ImPulsTanz in Vienna (Mathilde Monnier - "Publique", July 26). At danceWEB in Vienna (tradeMARK - "musicANDdance", July 20). Blush, she‘d literally blush.
Subjunctive, mon amour.
And because them dance artists seriously amour the Viennese audience, ImPulsTanz increases the encounterability. E.g.:
"Sonic Boom" by Wim Vandekeybus & Ultima Vez on July 19
"Le Sacre du Printemps"/"Chorale" by Compagnie Marie Chouinard on July 23
Certainly more on that issue on www.impulstanz.com/deutsch/impulstanz04/festival/index.html but also the Feature with Wim Vandekeybus and David Eugene Edwards knows to enchant: www.impulstanz.com/deutsch/news/index.html
Also dance activsts enjoy add-on offers:
Martin Kilvady - "Contemporary Technique" (July 17+18)
David Zambrano - "Flying Low" (July 19-23)
Iñaki Azpillaga - "Ultima Vez Repertory" (July 19-23)
www.impulstanz.com/deutsch/impulstanz04/festival/index.html knows more (and is daily updated).
Again nobody knows everything, though. Shame. Yesterday, in the metro, "What means heterosexual" could be scarily outright resolved with "It means that you are normal", the eroticism between "Contemporary Dance“ and "Spontaneous Applause", however, requires a closer look: Taboo or victory of the emotions? Annoyance or welcome diversion? Britney or Alanis?
MC Villa-Lobos, in any case, was awarded with plenty of the above thus - and this is certain - making for a sexy start of the most notable young choreographer‘s series [8:tension]. Who slacked on Tuesday, may indulge on Friday. And 3 x next week (Aughterlony! Pfundtner! Nioche! Crème Brulée!).
Finally a suggested manual to the above: the 10.15pm performances of [8:tension] smoothly nestle after dinner und provide sassy issues for the drinks thereafter.
Body and body manipulation all over. Or as Wilco sang already:
"Fill up your mind with all it can know
Don't forget that your body will let it all go."
Remorsefully on the surface - Jim Morrsion:
"Some of the worst mistakes of my life have been haircuts."
Significantly subcutaneous - Two Nice Girls:
"I spent my last ten bucks
on birth control and beer
My life was so much simpler
when I was sober and queer"
Oh. Oh. Ah.
