Indeed, this quote shows no diret link to (ImPuls)dance, rather to summer, but both are approaching, and Sheila, a Brazilianische choreographer, who I met last year at the festival in Vienna, wrote to me from Montréal, „What I lived in July/August 2000 in Vienna is so intense that it fits perfectly with the sake of it: dance. You can try the hardest, you can try to precise what it is about, describing, showing pictures etc. Nonetheless, the understanding comes through tasting the experience.“ and if THIS does not evolve desire... Exactly!

Exactly that is why my friends at ImPulsTanz have been engaging in a couple of nightshifts and thus completed the programmation for 2001 - the fruits of these nights can be found at , at my home, so to say.

July 22 - 29: join the HIP*HOP KONFERENZ 2001
Students of Austrian schools from 14 to 19 years of age are currently setting up hip hop events in their relevant school to nominate a representative who will then participate in the HIP*HOP KONFERENZ in Vienna.

At the HIP*HOP KONFERENZ (July 22 - 29, WUK Vienna) 50-70 students will then study, engage and party with internationally renowned hip hop teachers, musicians, graffiti artists, break dancers, DJs, writers, etc.
Participants will enjoy a daily workshop program (dance, DJing, singing, graffiti, writing), while in the evenings everyone is invited to join OPEN JAMS (incl. films, concerts, graffiti sessions, break dance, performances, battles). The final party will include showings of the work done during HIP*HOP KONFERENZ.
