Irena and Jule will ask questions about what it means to choreograph the voice in the dance field, and about how to use your voice as an artist in the public sphere. Their research spans from pre-verbal sounding as speech criticism and unveiling the voice in its digestive, sexual and chaotic materiality; to the difference between the right to speak and the right to being heard; to expressing the unspeakable through sounding and singing.
This research project will contain voice exercises, theoretical and historical considerations and experiential teaching. By asking questions and proposing practices around the difference between what you see and what you hear, we will guide every artist into their own exploration of topics, materials and concerns.
