Arcades of Pleasure
Under the open sky, movement is celebrated as joy, conversation and dance, structured by short instructions and impulses. Wonderfully analog, face to face, body to body, this class leads us from a simple warm-up to improvised dance miniatures – level by level, idea by idea.
ARTISTBIO: Sonja Browne
Sonja Browne is a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She trained in ballet, modern dance, tap dance, acting and singing in private classes and studied social work between 1996 and 1999.
She danced with Editta Braun, Willi Dorner, Hubert Lepka, Olivier Gelpe and others and did internships with AMICI (UK) and THEATER STAP (BE). In 1999 she founded the inclusive formation DANSE BRUTE, which performs dance by people with disabilities. 2006 she founded the company tanzmontage.Balance. Since 1999 she has been leading dance and improvisation classes at ImPulsTanz in Vienna, the Ostertanztage in Salzburg and the Tanztage in Würzburg. With her master thesis No to spectacle no to virtuosity no to ableism. How inclusive practice enriches contemporary dance at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna, she received her master's degree this year and is now continuing her studies in theatre, film and media at the University of Vienna.
