ImPulsTanz understands itself as a vital exchange platform for dance and performance professionals, offering a multitude of activities for students, teachers, choreographers, dramaturges and producers. Every year, we try to realise auditions, artist talks, teacher trainings, residencies, book presentations, workshop showings and eventually even conferences. In case of your interest, please regularly check in for ongoing updates about the current festival edition or also contact us at

AUDITIONS Every summer quite some companies take the opportunity of the international character of the festival to cast dancers and performers. Thus we provide you here with frequently updated audition details and dates, as well as information for those, who would like their own audition to happen during the ImPulsTanz festival. MORE

EDUCATION In order to provide a possibility for looking into the subject of contemporary dance and your artistic skills more intensively, to research on new forms and to focus on your own work ImPulsTanz has launched some deepening further training projects: Biblioteca do Corpo ®, ATLAS – Creating Dance Trails and a Teacher Training, taking place around the festival. MORE

SYMPOSIA Besides the practical education programmes ImPulsTanz also invites to diverse theoretical talks and symposia, such as the IDOCDE symposium. MORE

RESIDENCIES Each year ImPulsTanz is inviting emerging as well as well established artists to take use of its studios and work, research, write and create in the cosy summer shade of the buzzing festival atmosphere. The TURBO residency offers, in addition to that, also personal coaching for local newcomers. MORE

SCHOLARSHIPS Not only is ImPulsTanz an international festival taking place in Vienna, but also is it very well connected with numerous international institutions and organisations through networks or EU-projetcs. The danceWEB scholarship programme is one of the resulting projects which offers scholarships to more than 60 dancers and emerging choreographers from around 40 countries each year. The scholarship allows access to all Workshops & Research Projects and performances and provides the artists with mentoring through an artistic coach. MORE
