MUSEUM COOPERATIONS

ImPulsTanz has been promoting the dialogue between choreography, dance and the visual arts since 2013. To this end, collaborations have been initiated with organisations such as mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, Leopold Museum, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Weltmuseum Wien, Belvedere 21 and the Vienna Secession. In the past, artists such as Eszter Salamon, Xavier Le Roy, Simone Aughterlony, Philipp Gehmacher, Ivo Dimchev and Tino Sehgal have adapted existing works or developed new ones especially for the museum space, as have Peaches & Keith Hennessy, Akemi Takeya, Doris Uhlich, Amanda Piña and Liquid Loft.

This year, ImPulsTanz, together with the mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, invites you to a “performance festival” within the festival, curated by Christine Standfest and Marianne Dobner (mumok). The exhibition Nowhere / Now Here offers space for an artistic dialogue between historical film works from the mumok collection and live performances by Trajal Harrell, Geumhyung Jeong, Dana Michel and Eszter Salamon, among others. In addition, ImPulsTanz is once again a guest at the Künstlerhaus Factory – this year with Austrian positions by Liquid Loft / Chris Haring, Christine Gaigg and Silke Grabinger – and for the first time at the MAK – Museum of Applied Arts with Choreographic Objects, four installations by William Forsythe and at Galerie Kandlhofer.
