Alleyne Dance (UK)

A Night’s Game

It’s a rare treat to watch a couple of twins dance together but, on top of that, these two are among the most extraordinary personalities the British scene has to offer. Kristina and Sadé Alleyne mix powerful contemporary technique with Afro-Caribbean moves, Kathak (they appeared in several works by Akram Khan and Wim Vandekeybus), hip-hop and acrobatics. They perform an emotionally charged, energetic duet as A Night’s Game against the background of urgent issues – such as the loss of freedom, and incarceration – that result from their own life experiences. The siblings dance against the threatening darkness with force and exceptional elegance.
