AKEMI TAKEYA & SEBASTIAN BAUER

The Japanese artist Akemi Takeya, who has lived in Vienna since 1991, is not only well known to the ImPulsTanz audience as a choreographer and performer, but also for her unique voice. In her multidisciplinary way of working, she operates at the interface of different cultures and uses contrasts to create unexpected sounds, movements and lyrics. Sebastian Bauer has been working as a freelance composer and sound designer since 2007. In the field of dance and performance, he has already worked with a large number of artists, including Georg Blaschke, Anne Juren, Ian Kaler, Lise Lendais and Simon Mayer. As a duo, the band project with the working title BlackBoat unites the two artistic worlds. The sound work consists of digital and analogue sources of various influences, while the lyrics draw thoughts from diaries, dreams and essays as a creative resource. The concert performance integrates body and mind, rational and lyrical thinking and all kinds of wonderful sounds that unfold in a cappella songs, piano pieces and a short trio with KERN & QUEHENBERGER. blackboat.bandcamp.com

KERN & QUEHENBERGER

Keyboardist Philipp Quehenberger and drummer Dieter aka Didi Kern (BULBUL, Fuckhead) have been performing as a duo for more than two decades. In their brilliant and highly energetic live shows, they prove that free improvisation doesn’t have to be limited to just one genre. Their spectrum ranges from punk to free jazz, from techno to krautrock, from grindcore to avant-pop. Here, they thrash, berserk and plough until the fur flies. BULBUL

Founded in 1996, the Viennese band is definitely the most unconventional, trippiest and weirdest rock formation in the country. The trio - Manfred Engelmayr, Roland Rathmair and Didi Kern - is known for playing rock music with a special passion for dark corners and edges and combining it with dance, electronic and experimental music. BULBUL have created their very own, distinctive style and stand alone as a rapturous testament to individuality and the raw power of rock and noise, impressing with their unforgettable and electrifying live concerts. bulbul.klingt.org

H∆NN∆ x D!ZZY

Hip hop paired with eclecticism and the unusual is the musical trademark of H∆NN∆ x D!ZZY.
