3 August 2022
The 39th edition of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival is coming to an end and the final days are approaching. For the last time, Vienna’s museums and theatres open their spaces for contemporary dance and performance. The B-Side Party takes place at Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz. And the [8:tension] Young Choreographers’ Series culminates in the presentation of the ImPulsTanz – Young Choreographers’ Award above the roofs of Vienna.
26 July 2022
The fourth ImPulsTanz week kicks off with the world premiere of Ultima Vez’ jubilee piece as well as dance and performance in the most unusual settings: with Anne Juren in a patient room, Alexander Gottfarb on a field or Ivo Dimchev in a gay bar. In addition, female power lies ahead: with Robyn Orlin and Nadia Beugré in a refrigerator packaging, Florentina Holzinger on a motorcycle, Lenio Kaklea with a prepared piano and Geumhyung Jeong with self-made robots.
22 July 2022
The third festival week is all about memory in its different facets: Dealing with the past and lived experiences and including counter-proposals toward a better future. For example, Geumhyung Jeong recalls an affair with an excavator, Boglárka Börcsök dances with ghosts and Michael Turinsky shares insights into his life as a wheelchair user. Nadia Beugré and the Akram Khan Company, on the other hand, appeal for a rethinking of the familiar. And not only the two company anniversaries of Elio Gervasi and Wim Vandekeybus / Ultima Vez give reasons to celebrate, but also the top-class Soçial music programme at the Festival Lounge!
13 July 2022
In the second ImPulsTanz week, the focus is not only on dance and performance but also on music: pop songs by Rosalía, baroque sonatas played by Amandine Beyer and her ensemble Gli Incogniti, electronic sounds by Peter Plos, symphonic tones by Pascal Holper and much more. On 15 July, global club music by Mina & Bryte awaits the party crowd at the first ImPulsTanz Party A-Side at Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz to celebrate the 39th ImPulsTanz edition in style.
