The 46^th lemon bears the designation “Metaphor Toaster”, the 58^th is called “Happy Monkey”, the 67^th is “Wind Cat” and the 71^st “Black Bonsai”. Akemi Takeya enters her lemon circle: following the huge success of her performance Lemonism x Actionism at mumok in 2015, she now presents three new pieces at Leopold Museum that examine historical “isms” in art: minimalism, symbolism and Japonism. The actionism version will be shown again as well. A three-day-long Gesamtkunstwerk where the flesh of fruit and humans and ritual and ecstasy meet 20^th-century art.
