"ZZ"
The glass is singing. The dancer’s fingers are moving along its edge, a gentle melody starts to fill the room. In her piece "ZZ" the Austrian choreographer Akemi Takeya, born in Japan, successfully unites sound and movement; we watch her dancing the water, drinking the dance, hunting a light graphic, summoning and assembling splinters of memory. Takeya’s presence on stage is captivatingly intense, touchingly lonesome, exuberantly emotional, extremely restrained and, most of all, uncompromisingly honest.
