"'I' is Memory" A crazy, fantastic memory space, extended by means of a wall of sound loosely woven by Laurent Maslé, forms the basic mood in the solo “‘I’ is Memory”, created by Benoît Lachambre – enfant terrible of Canadian dance – for former La La La Human Steps star Louise Lecavalier. The sole requisite: a barre welded together with a chair. The dancer discreetly seeps into the emptiness of the stage. The more sparsely the dimmed spotlights shine, the more they accentuate her body. Lecavalier describes her character as a “mutant” struggling with the loss of his identity. Trailer I IS MEMORY!
