"So What!" For the Viennese Akemi Takeya who originally comes from Japan a portrait is: "Face is spirit, is an eye, in inside and out, is black and white, is line and life, is a spiral." The new work of the artist "So What!" touches on the construction of the "self" which, as a result of current trends in research in neurological science, is in the process of dissolution. Takeya is concerned both with the reflection of individual emotions as well as reflections on a society which stages everything and which opposes the dancers with "made up" truths. "So What!" was created in conjunction with the Beliner formation "Rechenzentrum" which has be working successfully at the interface of pop and visual art since its founding in 1997 at Documenta X.
