There are no programme booklets for this performance. Jérôme Bel insists on this because the conceptualist of contemporary dance works according to stringent ecological principles. This is why, at the beginning of this solo work created for her, Belgian actor Jolente De Keersmaeker acts out what would otherwise be printed in the programme. Famous choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s sister has accepted Jérôme Bel’s invitation to perform pieces from the history of modern dance. Because, according to Bel, many choreographies created in the 21st century are just as momentous and influential as the most significant theatrical texts. The excellent actor is not a professional dancer. So she plays to her strengths, does without the technical dictates of dance and gives free rein to her imagination. The result is an evening of dance and theatricality in the truest sense of the word, making full use of the body and of imagination, of movement and facial expressions, choreography and language, all with a good sense of humour.
