Siruan Darbandi, born in 1985, grew up in Vienna. As a teenager he moved to Graz, from where he still works today. He studied jazz singing at the Graz University of the Arts and has been involved in various music, theatre and later film projects since his school days. In addition to his freelance work as an actor, performer, clown and musician on numerous stages as well as in international projects and renowned festivals such as LaStrada and FiraTàrrega, he has also been active as a speaker and workshop leader since 2010. In addition to his ongoing collaboration with collectives such as Eléctrico 28, Gruppe Dagmar and InterACT, he also works with individual artists from the international independent scene. He is a founding member of the improtheatre and music ensembles MusicAct and Froschkonzert, the performance trio Slapstickboys and the association Kompanie Freispiel, which has focused particularly on theatre for young audiences since 2011. In addition, he has worked continuously as a Red Noses Clown Doctor in Styria and throughout Austria since 2009.
