Irene Coticchio is performer, singer and linguist. As a performer she has been internationally active for more than 20 years. Since 1996 she has been leaving in Vienna, where she has worked with Georg Blaschke, Bilderwerfer, Miki Malör, Paul Wenninger, Konnex, Navaridas /Deutinger, Otmar Wagner, among others. From 2001-2017 she was a member of the performance group Toxic Dreams, besides creating her own work. Since 2006, she has devoted herself to research work on Sicilian and Southern Italian folk music and founded her own music ensemble in 2008. She is also a founding member oft he collective cowbirds, which is dedicated to traditional polyphonic songs from Corsica and Sicily.
