Christina Rauchbauer works internationally as a choreographer, performer and theatre pedagogue on transdisciplinary, participatory and activist projects. She makes art for and with young audiences. Her artistic works deal with the moving and playful abstraction of social issues and create collective experiential spaces for young and intergenerational audiences. She explores formats of cultural participation, as in Ole Ole: Eine Ode an den Käfig. She performs at Dschungel Wien, Next Liberty Graz, Mousonturm Frankfurt, La Grenouille and in public spaces with her own creations too. Her projects have been awarded the STELLA, Social Impact Award, Child Protection Award Austria and by the Federal Ministry for Education and Women's Affairs Austria. In 2020 she founded the association FUORI – queer, wild, draußen – a platform for performative artists who combine cultural and social science approaches with physical-multimedia concepts. She is also head of the theatre department at the Musisches Zentrum Wien and teaches courses at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri and Dschungel Wien.
