"The Role I Should Have Done"
A not in the least down and out dancer allows us an in-depth look at his artistic life. Twenty years with William Forsythe – and what is left? Chaos, absurdity and 3427 Euros debts. Anthony Rizzi, once the flamboyant dance original at the Ballet Frankfurt, today an artistic self-made man has woven a sarcastic, crazy piece out of his fate. Together with opera singer Eric Lenke and dancer colleague Mario Zambrano he searches for "The Role I Should Have Done." What he finds in the process is a wild mixture of choreography, song and comedy as a tragic-comic settling of accounts with powerful interludes of "Freude, schöner Götterfunken" ("Joy, fashioned from celestial flame").
