Announcing 5 nominees of the Salavisa European Dance Award (SEDA)

The Salavisa European Dance Award (SEDA) will be presented in Lisbon on 27 November 2024. The prize, endowed with 150,000 euro, is named after the renowned Portuguese dancer, teacher and former artistic director of Ballet Gulbenkian, Jorge Salavisa. Five finalists have now been selected from a longlist of 21 candidates put forward by the partner institutions, including ImPulsTanz. 

For the first edition of SEDA the five nominees are:

・Dalila Belaza (Algeria/France)
・Idio Chichava (Mozambique)
・Catarina Miranda (Portugal)
・Dorothée Munyaneza (Rwanda/UK/France)
・Bouchra Ouizguen (Morocco)

A jury of three experts – consisting of the Danish choreographer and dancer Mette Ingvartsen, the artistic director of the Panorama Festival Naye López and the director of the Bergen International Festival Fue Kuen, Tang – will now select the winner until autumn. In addition to the prize money, the winner will also have the opportunity to present their work on the stages of the official partner institutions.
