SONDER

SONDER is a deep exploration of what it means to be a “somebody” in a world full of other “somebodies”. Building upon the principles from Raja’s previous workshops, Honest Reactions to Imaginary Situations and Myth, Madness, Montage, and Melodrama, SONDER creates an active world of physical and text-based language that is alive, malleable, penetrable, and surprising.

Through movement, storytelling, and theatrical experimentation, participants navigate the intersection of dance and theatre as well as examine how identity, perception, and interaction shape presence both on and off stage. Raja introduces improvisation, games, and scene work, and composition techniques, inviting performers to engage with methods drawn from pop culture, media, and contemporary performance to craft dynamic and expressive material.

This workshop is for performers eager to challenge themselves physically and theatrically, embracing the unknown and surrendering to the ever-changing moment. Participants can expect to work intensively, play boldly, and uncover unexpected connections between self, space, and story.
