PROGRAMME
This workshop is inspired by Sophia‘s previous Field Project. In this workshop, participants will develop a solo performance: reflecting on clichés and inner fire, building and deconstructing untruth and sincerity in relation to the self. Through exercises for body, voice, mind, and language, participants prepare to reveal their feelings and thoughts. This will form the “raw materia” – the tone from which they will create the foundation for an aesthetic statement.
Participants will practice transforming fantasies, frustrations, and even inactivity into poetic actions, bringing forth waste, abundance, failure, struggle, fire, death, and expression. In doing so, they will engage with the superficial and the profound, the subjective and the objective, the lie and the sincerity in relation to the self.
Poetry and metaphors will ignite a new horizon of exploring art forms. Everything that arises in the research process is a part of us. When it takes on a concrete form, it is both something new and something from which we can distance ourselves – something to observe, process, assemble, and deconstruct, in order to create a space between personal meaning and the value this action might hold for the environment, the public, and so on.
