PROGRAMME
Yoga is a lifestyle that from its inception has understood the role of Vagal tone for well-being.
We will explore the concepts and conditions of PolyVagal theory, which were created by Stephen Porges and compare and contrast these ideas to those already found in Yoga, especially the Tri-Guna theory.
Most of the practices to “hack” the Vagus nerve, to bring the nervous system into a state of balance – i.e. regulation – are from the field of Yoga, like breathing and meditation. This workshop will focus on techniques that directly stimulate the vagus nerve to centre our practice on the benefits of parasympathetic homeostasis.
Creating a safe and functioning inner environment is key for supporting a safe and adaptive social equilibrium. What are the ways that we can contribute to group stability? How can we use our Yoga practice to inform our understanding of interpersonal freedom? How can Yoga be a means for collective liberation?
We will explore these questions and more! Open to all levels!
