PROGRAMME
This workshop invites participants to explore the phenomenon of “dancing manias” – historical outbreaks of uncontrollable, contagious dancing – most notably during the Middle Ages – reveal how bodies react to the immense societal pressures of their time. These events prompt reflection on how dance today can help process crises.
How do our bodies respond to an overwhelming landscape of crisis? How does movement, and specifically collective dance, offer a way to process or foster resilience in an increasingly turbulent time?
Through movement, singing, and clapping, participants explore emotional states, resilience, and how dance can provide a space of temporary relief in turbulent times and shared energy amidst uncertainty.
