In this workshop, Silke examines various movement techniques and explores the extent to which human attributes are projected onto robots in order to familiarise us with their (often unfamiliar) movements. How do the origin and gender of the developers influence the programming, robotics and handling of these?
The workshop also examines the discourse of self-empowerment in terms of already being in complete control of robotics. To what extent do we harbour the desire to compensate for our own shortcomings? What does this do to our idea of perfection? Is this merely an attempt to justify our existence or are we rather on the way to healing our shortcomings?
In cooperation with Francisco Carolinum, Zirkus des Wissens and Boston Dynamics Spot of the Institute of Robotics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz and SILK KLISCOPE.
