alignment orchestrations for reducing the gravitational field
Let’s dive into a dynamic anatomical exploration of the shoulder-arm complex by investigating myofascial continuities, bone constellations as well as their sensory and motoric attributes. The functions of our arms are multiform, malleable, and multitasking. They can serve as support structures, balancers, embracers, hangers, catapults and swingers, landing pads, feelers and, last but not least, subtle orientators of the spine. In this two-day Intensive, participants will explore these multiple features of the arms with the goal to make them feel more integrated and supportive in dynamic movement.
Expect guidance towards anatomical and functional organisation, time for self-exploration, some partnered interactions and motives to fly, dive, swing and some upside downs.
The Axis Syllabus is a somatic approach to dance and movement techniques and a collection of knowledge for learning, researching and experiencing movement. This includes moving with anatomical relationships, physics, bio-tensegrity, ongoing multi-disciplinary research, movement analysis and transmission. An Axis Syllabus class aims to create a collaborative learning environment and effective space for personal research.
