Dancing is a synthetic way of making sense with the senses. Through different improvisational exercises and practices that tune into, turn up, sharpen or emphasise various senses and sensibilities in combination with one another, we move towards holistic dancing, where our senses of humour, imagination, style, rhythm or composition are as concrete as senses of touch, hearing, smell, vision or taste. In this way, a space opens up to experience how the sense that’s created through dancing is uniquely coordinated and arranged for each individual, yet shareable in a way that those differences become opportunities to expand our sensibilities through one another.
