Mélanie’s workshops investigate the role of dance and art in society and are designed to provide a territory where real meetings are possible in a safe and experimental environment. The workshops invite all participants, no matter their background, to explore “inner mythology” and to develop a creative process that comes from inside and reflects on the outside.
Each session begins with a discussion and then continues in a physical application of the concerns raised by the discussion. Soon, guided improvisations take over and the process is set in motion. The sessions are conducted in a spirit of community and shared experiences. The workshop addresses the importance of individual responsibility in a shared context. Special focus is placed on introspection and outrospection, on vertical and horizontal awareness and the connection to the creative potential of movements and discourse. The workshop is tailored to meet the issues and perspectives surrounding the principles that are behind MAYDAY's creative process and specifically by the mix between dance, theatre, music and performance in Confession Publique.
