Vogue To Everything is a ballroom category initiated by Plenvm Ninja to bring out the essence of Voguing in dancers who didn't grow up listening to Ballroom music. By highlighting parallels in the sounds of different musical genres, we develop an understanding of the movements and the underlying intention of the dance: how do you “hit” a pose? What do you “land” a dip on? Participants learn how to express themselves through this dance language by first learning the fundamentals Catwalk, Hands Performance, spins and dips and the likes, to then express these forms through musical and rhythmic accents of all types of music. Vogue To Everything is a testimony to the constant change that the ballroom scene and its art is undergoing since it moved from its birthplace NYC to open up spaces for LGBTQIA+ people worldwide.
