In 1977, Studio 54 opened in New York City, a nightclub in an unfashionable part of Manhattan, New York. Overnight it became a success and was the hottest spot in the entire world. During this decade through the middle 1980s, soul, funk and disco music played a major role in shaping what is now House!

This workshop tackles these roots of what later developed into House, exploring Soul, Funk and Disco, three music genres that help us find the jubilant nature of party. Additionally, Bravo brings his personal experience from the famous Studio 54 to the dance floor.

‘During my early years, I worked at Studio 54 and many other nightclubs in New York. I have watched and danced with a variety of dancers, from great and well-known dancers to the average club person. The final goal for all was to have fun and express our artistic freedom through dance! I would like to bring this sensation to you with this class that will incorporate the beats of Soul, Funk and Disco in a non-choreographed session.’
