An Anti-Colonial Approach to Reality

‘On Belonging' is an anti-colonial love story written by Dine artist and activist, Klee Benally, who passed in 2023. This text is going to serve as the daily meditation for this workshop as well as the inspiration towards a more honest sense of mutual fullness.

This workshop seeks to use the embodied practice of Yoga Asana and breath to foster a truth and reconciliation process, one that is deeply personal.

Reconciliation is a process of healing. We will lean into spiritual ontologies, decolonial theories and abolitionist practices to help ground our physical exploration.

Participants are going to keep a journal and have workshop time to write in it every day. These writings are for one’s own personal liberation and if participants are open to sharing, the group will collect the musings into a Yoga Journal titled ‘Somatic Solidarity’.
