A fusion of Ballet, Modern, and Jazz, Salim’s unique style explores a wide range of organic, often angular movements that are inspired by Graham technique with a strong base in classical dance. His contemporary class emphasises artistry and musicality, while it challenges the dancer to move in new, unconventional ways.

Starting with a warm-up of Modern-influenced, Ballet- and Jazz-based exercises mixed with Yoga and integrating meditation, focusing on proper execution and alignment. Participants are taken on a journey deemed a ‘danced meditation’. The class evolves to learning Salim’s original choreography, which is broken down to the smallest detail for a clear understanding. Salim’s emphasis on proper use of breathing is another strong base of his teaching, which is based on the premise that ‘dance heals everything’.

Designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced students, an understanding of the classical vocabulary and previous experience with and knowledge of Jazz and / or Modern dance are helpful.
