Afro-Fusion blends several energetic styles to create this unique amalgamation with influences of Zimbabwean, Nigerian, Caribbean and South African traditional forms as well as Western dance styles. It is a motivating, physically demanding dance class that combines movements to various styles of music. Participants will develop creative expression as well as improve mobility, strength, flexibility, coordination and sense of rhythm. Isolations, articulation exercises exploring the undulation of the spine are another focus of the class. Participants learn phrases based on the warm-up that will challenge and form movement interpretation and accuracy. As it is Kristina’s and Sadé’s belief, that music inspires the heart and soul, it will be an important part of this workshop.
