Movement Material is a non-instrumental approach to movement technique, where technique is something, you do (a verb) and not some thing (noun) you learn. We will be “techniqueing” by sensing and paying attention to our movement. Making sense of, with and through movement. By taking physical and functional perspectives of how our perceptual and movement apparatus are entwined, we explore the uncanniness of movement’s both material and immaterial mode of existence. Our explorations will be framed through improvisations, physical investigations and set materials, without ever losing contact with dancing as form of moving, thinking, sensing, playing and likely sweating.
