Gravity has been a theme in Modern Dance classes for ages. But what if we focus on it again in order to renew and deepen in our relationship to ground and grounding. Let’s let our dancing come alive and decay with the plant energy of the summer season. Class will begin with somatic awareness explorations for the spine, followed by a warm up that moves in and out of the floor, leading us into lively movement which traveling through the space. Let’s play with re-discovering gravity in our dancing like plants growing a network of roots and rhizomes and perhaps with a few epiphytes (air plants) in the room!
