Voice & Rhythm the voice as the ultimate musical instrument „I firmly believe that the voice can be used as the ultimate musical instrument for the dancer, since it gives breath to movement and since movement serves to liberate the voice. The merging of voice and movement is my passion. Excercises that center on relaxation allow to explore the breathing connecting to the voice. The breath will be directed to various resonators in our body. Work on range and rhythm and one’s capacity of sounding, speaking and singing is done. In all stages the dancers may be asked to interpret the sounds through movement, translate photos, postcards and paintings into sounds, explore the voice through space, and so on.“ Charmaine Le Blanc is a composer, vocalist and percussionist. She has had the opportunity to work on over thirty soundtracks for leading theatre and dance companies in Canada and abroad. Artistic collaborations include Margie Gillis, Risa Steinberg, Angelique Willkie, a.o. Her musical accompaniment is enjoyed at dance institutions such as LADMMI Montréal, José Limon Institute, Concorde University, New School for the Arts Amsterdam, ao.
