The Concept and the Idiot

This philosophy workshop unfolds one of the possible ways to navigate in the nervous sea of concepts. It is an introduction to a theory based practice, and a critical exposition of some current problems, ideologies and questions that intersect philosophy and discourses found in contemporary art practices.

The horizon of these sessions is the historicised tension between “concept”, “body” and “the great outdoors”.
The haunting of this workshop is the fact that the history of knowledge in the West is a history of violence.

We will examine this tension, under this haunting, passing by a few landmarks:

- Language, death, and hospitality

- Difference and repetition: various time theories and their political subconscious

- Witches, friendship, mathematics, psychoanalysis, science fiction: philosophy and the great outdoors.

- The Greek art of asking questions.

We will establish some common grounds and destabilise some concepts. You don’t need to know anything about philosophy. I will share my practice with you, we will establish some common grounds, destabilise some ideologies, read some texts together, and ask as many questions as we please.
This is also a workshop for people who are interested in how to transmit and share a theory based practice.
Bring some pens and paper if you wish, and some idiotic ideas.
