Unlock your "iBody"
discover our "unlocked" mode
Like our favorite gadgets, our bodies often "lock" if we don't stay attuned to them. In order to get the most of your "iBody" we need to unlock it before we begin to dance.
Once we discover our "unlocked" mode we will be able to enjoy our full potential as dancers with endless possibilities.
The class encourages dancers to find freedom in their body and "unlock" sensations of tension or limitation. Through the class dancers will be able to maximise the use of the warmed-up body to increase their movement possibilities and take risks in their dancing.
The initial warm-up uses elements from Yoga, Ballet and Release Technique to focus on discovering and strengthening connections within the body structure and to find fluidity in the joints. Dancers will develop an understanding of the connections between their body and the floor, and how using weight, momentum and breath allows an exploration of physically full dancing with the least amount of muscular tension.
