Afro Flow – Diaspora Dances

Connect!

urbanative package

Hiphop, House, Dancehall, Salsa, Samba... dances from different places with different cultural, social, political and historical realities. What do they all have in common? ARTISTBIO: Sofie Douda

I started dancing, singing and acting as a child and later studied social and cultural anthropology and linguistics.
I worked at the intervention center against human trafficking and I worked with people with special needs and with Babies and Children.
I was also politically active - for instance squatting houses, rebel clowning or trying to stop deportations.
In Paris, France I trained in contemporary dance technique and performed with different traditional african, urban and latin dance groups.
In Salvador de Bahia I learned about traditional brazilian dances and in Haiti I performed with the National Theater and the major dance companies, like for instance 'Ayikodance'.
My biggest wish is for everyone to be able to live in freedom and solidarity.
