How does a Caribbean-Canadian deal with the stereotypes of “black” culture? Preferably the way performance discovery Dana Michel does in her vivacious solo Yellow Towel. In the guise of an exuberant stage persona she bends various clichés to the absurd. From this emerges both fancifully and pleasurably: great fiction. The piece was initiated during a workshop with Ivo Dimchev at ImPulsTanz 2011.
