A cosmos of stories opens up that appears to unite all aspects of life within itself. In this piece, Louise Lecavalier says, “everything is included: past, present and future, lightness, intensity, emptiness and abundance, shadow and light, dream and reality”. Lecavalier’s past is unforgettable: between 1981 and 1999 she danced in every production of the world-renowned company La La La Human Steps and became a star on account of her uniquely virtuoso dance technique and captivating stage presence. After she left the Canadian company and ended her collaboration with its choreographer Édouard Lock, she began performing her own works with increasing success. “So Blue” is the highlight of her second career to date. Together with fellow dancer Frédéric Tavernini and accompanied by the haunting music of Turkish artist Mercan Dede she “fights against gravity”. Louise Lecavalier is in search of a dance that gives shape to the turmoil of her “atomic blue soul”: “my research always goes beyond physical limits”.
