A three-part evening that brings together artistic positions that have one thing in common: a “twist”, a tipping point after which, just like in real life, nothing is the same anymore. Yulia Arsen’s work revolves around the whip in all its symbolic meanings; in fractional step, Tatiana Chizhikova and Roman Malyavkin deconstruct folk dance in all its ambivalence between virtuosity, bravura and despair; and we encounter sophisticated and vulnerable dance as a form of somatic resistance to shame and rage in the other side by Tarik Burnash and Elena Demyanenko – acts of survival in times of upheaval.
