Alleyne Dance

Far From Home

Major issues like migration and divisions in society are on Kristina and Sadé Alleyne’s minds, too. They are, among other things, two of the most renowned and most popular teachers at the ImPulsTanz workshop department. Over the past ten years, the twins have established Alleyne Dance, one of the most exciting companies on the British dance scene. In 2012, the sisters were involved in Akram Khan’s contribution to the opening ceremony of the Olympics in the UK’s capital before winning audiences over in their own right with their powerful dance influenced by Kathak, hip hop, West African and Caribbean styles. Born into a London family that hails from the Caribbean Island nation of Barbados, the sisters are now working with British and local dancers to find out where they truly belong. Far From Home is the emotional expression of this quest, whose goals include the vision of connecting people.
