Clara Furey

Dog Rising

In 2018, the Canadian musician, dancer and choreographer presented her fascinating solo When Even The, inspired by Leonard Cohen’s poem of the same name, at ImPulsTanz in mumok. An ‘architecture of pleasure’ informs the dancing in Clara Furey’s polyphonic trio that affects both the audience and the three performers. Because, like dancing in a club, here, too, the whole body pulsates with the vibrations of the music. Furey’s brother Tomas supplies the hypnotic sound to which the performers of Dog Rising dance in a way that not only awakens the audience’s perception but also subtly sensitises it.
