Frédéric Gies (FR/SE)

walk + talk

This very special performance lecture format was devised by renowned Austrian choreographer Philipp Gehmacher. The first walk+talk took place in 2008, and it’s now a recurring highlight at ImPulsTanz. Maria F. Sciaroni did it, as did Remy Héritier and Anne Juren. Now the French-Swedish dancer, choreographer and techno a cionado Frédéric Gies makes use of the format in Vienna for the first time. He discusses patterns inherent to ballet, contemporary dance and techno, and shares with his audience the most formative pieces, key moments and most exciting encounters of his remarkable dance career that began in the early 1990s.
